What is Paxlovid?

Paxlovid – the generic name nirmatrelvir or ritonavir – is Pfizer’s new anti-viral, oral medication. Paxlovid is a SARS-COV2 protease inhibitor. It exhibits defense mechanisms against COVID-19 by inhibiting the mPRO. Doing so prevents viral replication within the human body. Paxlovid provides resistance against the Delta variant.
